Hey Hey! What’s goin’ on Hi-Point fans? Hope all is well your way ☺ I am in an incredible mood! I FINALLY finished my senior project in my lab. I seriously have so much stress off me now! My project was a beauty box. The thesis statement on my research paper was “Engineering and electronics benefit the 21st century woman’s goal of looking beautiful.” I had to prove my point, so I made a beauty box. This box is magical! It holds my straightener, my curling iron, my hair dryer, and all the other accessories that I have to use on myself in the morning while getting ready. Of course I added diamonds and glitter…and painted it purple… It just wouldn’t be “Mikki” without it : ) Sweet, huh? Yeah!
So it feels as if I haven’t blogged, in like, forever. So much has been going on at OHP. Two weeks ago, I went to the SkillsUSA competition. I competed in the video product competition. I talked about how career-technical schools benefit our community, and our students. I didn’t place, but it was the first time I have ever done anything with video, so that’s my excuse, lol. I had sooo much fun at Skills, though. We stayed in an awesome hotel, we swam, and went to a dance ☺ The best thing about Skills was when these rapper dudes sang a song titled “New Sneakers.” Five other kids and I, out of like 1000 people were the only ones who enjoyed this song. They wanted everyone in the audience to stand up and take their right shoe off and put it in the air. So we stood up and fist pumped with our shoes. Talk about fun, son! Gladly, I’m one who loves attention, so I was happy all eyes were on me ![]()
Sad sad story… I gave my last tours last week ☹ It was the final time I will ever be able to talk to students about how great OHP is, and show them around the school. So I made sure they enjoyed their tour…and was able to teach the lovely Mercedes (other lead ambassador) how to give a fabulous tour, so that she’s ready for next year without us seniors. : ) Everything is coming to an end for my senior year. I graduate in a month! I do keep this quote in my head, though, “Graduation is not the end, it’s the beginning.” I like that, it’s perfect. Bell just rang, so I will talk to you next week! Ta ta for now!

Ayyy:) How are my Hi-Point fans doing? Hopefully you all are enjoying this fabulous weather we are having! I know I sure am ![]()
So I was told to blog about stuff I don’t like about OHP this week. I’m guessing my blogger instructor guy was nervous to tell ME to do that, because he knows…that I am a very outspoken lady! But, I’m sitting here writing my entry, and I seriously cannot think about anything negative to say about this school. Weird? I know!
So he has absolutely nothing to worry about, lol. Maybe one tiny problem I personally have is that I’m not in class all that often. But that’s only because of the choices I have made for being a Lead Ambassador here at OHP. So sometimes my grades start slacking a little because I’m not often in class to learn the material. But next week we have OGT’s, so Hi-Point will be on a two hour delay all week. We are holding a study hall for those two hours for anyone who thinks that they need time to work on school stuff. So I will be here, making sure my grades are flying high. Haha.
I had my slot car competition last week at Rhodes State College for engineering day. My pretty, dazzled car had the looks, but it only ran down the track twice. Boooo!
I had 8th grade tours yesterday. Shana (fellow blogger) and I were able to do them together, which was soo much fun! We definitely made sure those 8th graders knew everything about OHP, fersure! We just kept on talking and talking and eventually ran out of time, haha. I gotta get back to class for now. Next week I will be posting videos and blogs about the ABLE classes here at OHP. So make sure you see those! Ta-ta for now!
Hey guys I’m back again after what seems like a while…..
Well, this year is flying by!! it is already time for 8th grade tours. I just had my first tour yesterday. it was a group from Kenton. They were pretty quiet for the most part, but man did they ask good questions when they had them. They seemed really ready to learn all about our wonderful programs and their benefits. We started at Cosmetology and slowly worked our way through all of the programs. Several students were glad to see the different labs. I think we may have another guy possibly interested in Cosmetology, which is really good because some people think some labs are just for the girls or just for the boys. That’s not the case at all!! We have guys in Cosmetology and even Health Technology! There are girls in the Auto Labs like Diesel Technology and Auto Collision, too. Everyone can go for whatever they are interested in.
We’ve been working hard at OHP. We are finishing up our senior papers before break and summing up the little tidbits of our academics. In my English class we’re finishing our papers and King Arthur. We have done quite a bit. We just finished watching the movie! In personal finance we’re working on the facts about credit cards and debit cards. We are learning how to properly use them and avoid the risk of identity theft. Government is moving right along. We are learning how we can run for president. I might just decide to be president one day. That’s everyone’s dream right? Math is all about parabolas. These are those u-shaped graph “things.” We are doing something called “completing the square.” This is where we change it from one format of equation to another so we can find the vertex. Overall, its pretty difficult.
Lab is something new all the time. We’re all ready for CHRISTMAS VACATION!!!! We can’t wait. We have planned a dinner and fun day for the last day before break. We’re planning on watching a Christmas movie and having a good lunch of homemade foods and a gift exchange. I got a fellow student in my lab. I hope i can find her something good. Well that sums everything up until next time…….
