Dang, I can’t believe Christmas break is just next week! Time is flying by, and another year is around the corner.  There are many, many things that I have to be doing this coming year.  I have many goals to accomplish in a short amount of time.  One of the first goals of mine bringing in the new year is to take, and do well on the ACT.  Yeah, yeah I know, I should’ve taken them a long time ago.
Another goal is to keep my GPA up as high as possible.  I’ve found it harder this year to keep up my grades with the many responsibilities I hold.  I also want to do well on my Senior Project and graduate high school with honors.  College and getting scholarships are also a huge goal of mine.  I recently got accepted into one of the colleges that I was looking into, and now it’s time to get the ball rolling with scholarship forms.  Wow.  It’s a lot to handle in one year.  But I’m more prepared than ever to do what needs to be done.  I hope everyone has a nice, and safe holiday.

Hey everyone! I’m working on starting to set new goals for the new year. I think I’m really going to focus on more stuff that’s going to affect my life in a more positive way that will help me when I leave high school and start on my own. Some of the goals I have been thinking about are to really work on my school work, be more of a positive influence everywhere I go, work harder while at my job, and to be someone that people can look up to for anything they do. Hopefully it’s not too much of a challenge and I can strive everyday to achieve. Have a nice winter break! And Happy Holidays!

Bring on the New Year!!!! That’s the way I feel about the new year coming up. I know it’s going to be busy and hard, but I’m as ready as I’m ever going to be. When we first come back from break the first thing we do is start studying for our exams, only to take them all the very next week. Starting with the exams ought to be an interesting way to “ease” back into learning after the break.
My goals for the new year are to keep doing what I’ve been doing. I plan on keeping my grades up and continuing to study while balancing my work schedule on top of it all. One of the first things I need to do is decide where I’d like to go to college at since there’s just so many places to choose from it’s hard to decide which one would be the best for me.
I also need to start thinking seriously about my senior project.  My thoughts about it are the sooner the better. The sooner I can get it finished the better it will be for me. I’m going to try and not let it sneak up on me. So this is what I plan on doing in the new year but as I’m sure you all know hardly anything ever goes as planned, so all I can do is prepare myself to take on whatever comes my way. Hey everyone! How ya been? We have been so busy getting things done in this last week of school before break! When we get back it’s going to be a fresh new start.
Many people have probably asked you what are some goals you have that you would like to accomplish in the new year. I have been asked this question many times. It’s hard to respond to because there is so much. I want to make the last half of my senior year even better than the first. A goal I have is to finish up the school year the best I can and with the best grades I can have. I also want to make many memories. As a senior, I’m realizing that this time you wait for for so long comes sooner than you’re ready for. It’s sad to think that this is the last year we will see the teachers and friends we have made here within the last two years.
Most kids come here thinking that they are leaving behind something, or that they are going to miss out on things. Truthfully, I don’t regret my decision to come to Hi-Point at all! The teachers, the friends, and the memories are something I will take with me for the rest of my life. The skills that we have learned are lifelong and we always have this to fall back on. So my goals for the new year are not to regret a thing. To make this the best yet. Also, make wise decisions as to where to work and further education. Making decisions that will not just benefit me now, but in the future, too!

Hey guys I’m back again after what seems like a while…..
Well, this year is flying by!! it is already time for 8th grade tours. I just had my first tour yesterday. it was a group from Kenton. They were pretty quiet for the most part, but man did they ask good questions when they had them. They seemed really ready to learn all about our wonderful programs and their benefits. We started at Cosmetology and slowly worked our way through all of the programs. Several students were glad to see the different labs. I think we may have another guy possibly interested in Cosmetology, which is really good because some people think some labs are just for the girls or just for the boys. That’s not the case at all!! We have guys in Cosmetology and even Health Technology! There are girls in the Auto Labs like Diesel Technology and Auto Collision, too. Everyone can go for whatever they are interested in.

We’ve been working hard at OHP. We are finishing up our senior papers before break and summing up the little tidbits of our academics. In my English class we’re finishing our papers and King Arthur. We have done quite a bit. We just finished watching the movie! In personal finance we’re working on the facts about credit cards and debit cards. We are learning how to properly use them and avoid the risk of identity theft. Government is moving right along. We are learning how we can run for president. I might just decide to be president one day. That’s everyone’s dream right? Math is all about parabolas. These are those u-shaped graph “things.” We are doing something called “completing the square.” This is where we change it from one format of equation to another so we can find the vertex. Overall, its pretty difficult.

Lab is something new all the time. We’re all ready for CHRISTMAS VACATION!!!! We can’t wait. We have planned a dinner and fun day for the last day before break. We’re planning on watching a Christmas movie and having a good lunch of homemade foods and a gift exchange. I got a fellow student in my lab. I hope i can find her something good. Well that sums everything up until next time…….

Hey guys! This week we’re all gearing down and preparing to take our semester exams. They make sure we stay busy and stay positive to keep our heads on the right path to do well as we take the tests.
8th grade tours have started up and being a lead ambassador I feel a personal responsibility to make sure I do all that I can to show everyone all the information I have about Ohio Hi-Point. Even though the weather hasn’t really been on our sides, we do our best to make sure that every student comes here to see the lab that they wanted to see.

The holidays are going great this year, and we’re one step closer to Christmas!  On top of that I just celebrated my birthday a few days ago.  My lab is also about to go on a field trip to the University of Northwestern in Lima to see new equipment and how it works.  I find this great since it’s the college I’ve been accepted into.   A particular piece of equipment we’re going there to look at is the Hunter alignment rack.  It consists of satellites that guide you through aligning a car fast and efficiently.  As for Thanksgiving break it was great!  I had one dinner in Columbus with my sisters and mother, then the next day I had dinner at my dad’s.  I was stuffed for the next week.  I wish the best to everyone over break, and happy holidays!

HELLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EVERYBODY! It seems like I haven’t blogged for you guys in forever. We have been real busy here at Hi-Point. I am president of my program, so we had a meeting today discussing what our lab is going to do for our community service project, and we have a lot of good ideas. During the meeting I received some GREAT news! Want to know what it is??? I AM THIS DECEMBER’S STUDENT OF THE MONTH. YAY! I am very happy that I got this honor!!
So I have been involved in a lot of school activities. Not only am I the president of my lab, but I am also the school president, too.

I can’t think of any more exciting ways to begin my blogs than to grab my fans’ attention! Haha.
How are all of you Hi-Point fans? I hope you all are doing fabulous and enjoying all of the Holiday spirit going on everywhere. : )  I am doing OK besides the fact that I’m 17 and I’m getting laid off from my job. That’s when you know the economy is awful!  Here at OHP everything is busy, busy, busy, like usual! The theme for this month is Community Service.  I figured since such a large number of parents are going to be jobless this Holiday season, my program and I need to help families out as much as possible.  So if any of you have any awesome ideas for what my program can do this year, holla at me!

I remember when I was a sophomore and I was interested in going to OHP for my junior and senior year of high school. My momma was so not down with it. She thought Hi-Point would just be an easy way out for me. I told her no, no, no! Hi-Point has SO much to offer for me, so she decided to let me be a student here.  Now my mom’s outlook on Ohio Hi-Point is completely different!  She loves that I chose to come to the career center for my last two years of high school.  She is so pleased with all the experience that I have been given here at OHP. All of the skills I have learned and all of the college credits that I have earned here. My mom is just another statistic with job loss, but she is one who lost her job due to the crappy economy, so she is especially thrilled by all the money that we have saved by me choosing to come to Hi-Point. My momma is so happy that I became a Lead Ambassador, too, and now a blogger for OHP. She doesn’t regret my choice at all and her choice in letting me come to Ohio Hi-Point Career Center!  So, go fill those applications out, sophomores! Go, go, go!
