Senior year is just around the corner… such a relief, & yet still kind of scary. I hope my senior year will be one to remember with just the right balance of hanging with friends, & accomplishing my goals. It’s weird to think that I only have one more year of school left. I guess that’s just because I’ve spent year after year going back to school at summer’s end. I do think though, that Ohio Hi-Point is preparing me to make the transition from High School into college easier. Because of the more independent environment of Ohio Hi-Point I feel like I have been able to discover myself as an individual, apart from my identity within my group of friends at my home school. I plan to take full advantage of my senior year in every way possible,  go out with a bang, and really make it count.
The school year is officially coming to a close. I won’t be blogging a whole lot this summer because I have a lot of plans. I’m going to be working a lot, but I also have some fun things planned as well. At the end of June, I actually have an opportunity to attend Ohio Business Week Camp, and I’m being sponsored by Ohio Hi-Point. I’ll get to explore a lot of new concepts in the area of business and it will be a good learning experience for me, so I probably will blog to you guys about that. =) Also, I’ll be attending our school’s annual Band Camp at Bluffton University! Call me a geek, I LOVE band camp. One thing I love about OHP  is that they are very flexible, so I get to do marching band and I don’t have to miss out on all the good times. I’m sure this summer will fly by, and I’ll be back at this again, blogging away to you guys! Until then, peace. =)

Senior Year! It is almost over. How was the journey? When thinking of my senior year many feelings and emotions go through my head. In one way, I feel this year drug on and it was a tough one, I kind of feel excited that I will be done with school. At the same time, it is sad and scary. It is sad to think that the days of school and friends are part of the past and are just going to be memories. Ending my senior year is also a very scary thing for the fact it is time for life-changing decisions. I have to decide where to go from here and what I truly want out of life.
After school, I plan to work at the same salon that I do now as a receptionist full-time until a chair becomes open. When that happens, I will work as a commission girl and build up my clientele to soon be on my own and rent a booth. Since I will be receiving my Cosmetology license right out of school, I will not be attending college right away. A long term goal that I have is to eventually go to spa school and get into a more spa environment.
Overall I am truly excited for graduation and the next couple weeks! Attending Hi-Point has helped me to feel a lot more secure for my future and know truly where I belong in life. It has helped me to achieve my goals and maintain a job in my field right out of high school. I couldn’t have accomplished what I have without Hi-Point!

Hello, so I just wanted to sum up all I have done my junior year.  I started out doing hand drawings in my class which was a lot of fun.   I learned the basic skill of drawing lines and why its important to keep your line type the same.  We then started learning AutoCAD.  We spent a lot of time learning the program and also doing work out of the work book.  Around the same time I was learning the program I was elected to be the junior president of AMD 1.
Also I had an interview to be a lead ambassador.  I was picked to be a lead ambassador and was soon out to schools to recruit.  After becoming a lead ambassador I then got a email asking students to go to a Skills USA conference down at the Ohio State Fair.  I got the privilege to go to this as well.  We spent two days down in Columbus and I had a blast and look forward to going to this next year.
Around this time in lab we started designing and building bridges for the Rhodes State contest.  We also had to build a tower to try to get it the tallest in 30 min.  I took first in bridges and took third in towers.  After the bridges and towers we then began to work on architecture and the mechanical side worked on drawings.
I got an email from Mrs.Spain asking if I would like to be a blogger.  I immediately replied yes and asked what I had to do to become one.
So now you know what my junior year is all about.  I became a blogger, a lead ambassador and Skills USA president of the junior class of AMD.  To all of the students that are coming up next year I suggest you take every opportunity Ohio Hi-Point gives you.  Make the last two years of your high school career two years to remember.  I guarantee that I am always going to remember that I was part of Hi-Point Journeys.

If I had to look back and describe my senior year I would say it was a vanishing act because I honestly don’t know where it’s gone. People always tell you that your senior year of school will be the fastest year of your life and you always look at them, laugh and say yeah right but in the end I guess they were all right. I have enjoyed every second of my senior year. It wasn’t always fun with all the projects and homework, but looking back I can’t really think of one thing that I would do differently if given the opportunity. All I can say for everyone that is heading or will soon be heading into their senior year is take in every moment and take advantage of every opportunity and never let a good memory slip past. After I graduate I will be starting my first college class in the summer because it will be a pre-requisite for my nursing clinicals, which I will start in the fall at Clark State Community College. I will be going there for the next two years in hopes of obtaining my RN licensure so I can hopefully continue my education even further. OHP has tremendously helped me for the future, it has prepared me to go directly into the field of study that I want to, I am so far ahead of the game with all of the knowledge and practical experience that my lab has given me and I know that the advantage I’ve gained from my time at Hi-Point puts me in the driver seat for my future. So if I can leave you with one bit of advice it would be take full advantage of every opportunity for knowledge because one thing you pass up might be one thing you never have a chance to learn again. Thanks for reading and until next time enjoy life to the fullest.

I can’t believe this will be one of my last blogs, and that this is one of the last ones some will read. My senior year was more than I had ever planned for myself. I always pictured senior year being great, but it was a lot more than that. I’ve been given many opportunities this year that have made the year worthwhile. I’m headed off to Rhodes State Community College to receive my Registered Nursing license. Then I’ll be transferring to get my Bachelors in Nursing. How’d Ohio Hi- Point help me?

Honestly, I’d be so far behind if I wouldn’t have came to Hi-Point. OHP has put me far ahead of the other seniors in my graduating class from my home school. In order to get into the coursework part of the Nursing program, there is core work that needs finished in order to take those classes. Part of the core work is a computer class, in which my whole lab took at Hi Point, in which I passed. Another part is the State Tested Nurses training, in which I passed back in November with OHP. Both tests were completely free for me take, and usually costs over $500. This means out of the core work that Rhodes requires, I only have one class to take in order to get into the Nursing coursework. Out of five requirements I had all except one. I would’ve had the last one, if my COMPASS score would have been a little higher. I had almost every requirement because of Ohio Hi-Point Career Center. I will never be able to thank this school enough for giving me the amazing opportunity that I received. I not only got a great head start to the future, but I feel more prepared than I ever have for college. Out of the schooling I’ve had, OHP was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and was the very first step for my Nursing career. And as I get older, I’ll never forget what this school has done for me.

As senior year comes to a close, I think about the others that are thinking of coming to Hi-Point, and I’m a strong advocate for that choice. I hope everyone enjoys their summer, be safe, and careful! And don’t forget about the very FIRST bloggers (:

Hey! My senior journey has been a blast. I couldn’t have asked for more between all of my friends, a great school, and all of the new opportunities that have been opened up for me. I spent time doing things that every senior could dream about doing. Working at my job, doing what I love in Information Technology, looking for the right college to go to and the field I want to stick with for the rest of my life. OHP has helped me out so much. It made me decide what I like to do, what I wouldn’t want to do, made me mature and become completely ready for the rest of my life.
I have a lot of friends getting ready to graduate back at my home school, and they still don’t even know what they want to do. They don’t know what field they want to go in, what school to go to or anything. I feel I am so far ahead of everyone because not only do I know what I want to do, but also I’ve already been doing it for two years. It gives me confidence and experience to do what I love. I had the next 4-5 years of my life planned out, but unfortunately some things have come up and I wasn’t able to go to the school that I was originally accepted to and was on the path to go to. I will be going to Clark State for Cyber Security and Networking Administration for the first year and hopefully by the next year I will be financially stable enough to move around to Columbus State Community College for the same field. I couldn’t be more sure that Ohio Hi-Point has made me who I am today and has opened my life up for so many more opportunities. Even though I am graduating I will still be checking up on the site. I hope I have made a positive influence on you and how you choose to start off the beginning of your life. Have a good summer!

Hello everyone! As the school year reaches the end, it’s time for seniors to graduate, and juniors take the senior position next year. Being a junior, I will soon be taking the role of a senior, and figuring out my life plans. It’s kind of a scary thought to think that I have only one more year of school. I’ve gone through Pre-K, Kindergarden, Elementary school, middle school, and finishing up my 12th year of school next year. It’s almost hard to believe I’ve been in school this long! My senior year I hope to graduate with my cosmetology license, and be working in a salon as a stylist by the time I graduate. I recently just started working in a salon as a receptionist, and I plan working there over the summer and next school year as well.
I’m not going to lie, I have PLENTY of fears about my senior year! Being a senior is just a scary thought, not to mention, moving on with life and working in your PROFESSION. ( Not a job, your profession. The career you plan to do the REST of your life.) Some times I would love to go back to Elementary school and just stay a little kid forever. But life goes on, and each year is full of new life lessons taught, new people to meet, different plans, and new opportunities. I love how life continually changes, but in order for that to happen, you have to keep moving forward.
I feel I’m ready to be a senior, but it will just take some getting used to. It has been a wonderful junior year, and I will surely miss it. Sadly, it’s time for me to end my last blog while being a junior. I hope you all have a wonderful summer, and you’ll be hearing from me sooner than you know it! Have a great one! =]

Ohio Hi-Point has been a good experience for me thus far because it allows me an opportunity to learn differently than I would at my home school. In our classrooms we get hands-on learning, and are able to actually put what we learn into practice. It’s preparing me for a career, so I don’t feel like I’m wasting time with something I will never use. One of the things I love about my lab in particular is that I can explore different aspects of something that I’m interested in (technology), and kind of decide from there where my talents fit best into that broad field. For me, it’s combining communication, technology, and art to get Digital Media. But not only do I get the opportunity to decide that before I get to college (so I don’t have to switch my major 6 times to figure out what I like), but the other benefit is that I’m getting credits in other areas of technology that might count toward my general education electives requirements in college, and I’m also getting certifications that can help me in the future to secure a job until that perfect opportunity for a job I’d like to keep until I retire comes along.

My senior journey has been great. I’m not entirely sure I want to move on past OHP, though. This year has been full of great things. I got to go on trips for Business Professionals of America and placed at state. I have had a blast being a lead ambassador. I will miss getting to do so much. As a senior, I am glad the time has come to say goodbye, but then I’m not so sure. I will miss my friends. Once I have convocated I will be attending UNOH (University of Northwestern Ohio) for Business. I am hoping to start in business and move to a dual major in marketing. I am hoping this will all go well.
OHP has helped me greatly. Coming here helped me find what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. This has helped me prepare to attend college and even get me some college credit that will transfer to my school. OHP was a great way for me to prepare for the future. I have learned the basic knowledge I need to know for my career in business. I have earned Microsoft Certification. These will help with future jobs. Overall OHP I believe was the best way to prepare for my future.

Well, well, day after day we get closer and closer to graduation and I never know what the next day is going to bring. This last Tuesday I was recognized at Clark State for an outstanding tech prep student award, and then Thursday I had a banquet and recognition for the top 15 students at Hi-Point. In between that I worked Monday and Wednesday and had a track meet on Friday. Whoever said that the end of your senior year was a time to relax and just enjoy the ride was lying. It seems that the end of the year is bringing my busiest times and is luckily keeping me on my toes and not letting me slack off. One thing that is going to make the end of the year even more difficult is the task of trying to juggle the graduation activities at my home school and at Hi-Point all at the same time, all while finishing up my last track season. All I can say is that when all of this is over I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself, it will be such a letdown to not be busy all of the time, I’m sure I’ll enjoy myself for awhile though. All I can say is bring on the graduation and bring on the summer fun.
