Welcome to the journey of 10 Ohio Hi-Point Career Center students. They are not only students, but seniors, just 10 months away from entering the “real” world. The senior year can be filled with anxieties, triumphs, successes, failures, new experiences, lofty expectations, worry and the realization that life is about to take a life-changing turn. For these 10 seniors, their journey, filled with all of these experiences and emotions, will be documented through Ohio Hi-Point’s “Hi-Point Journeys” project. 10 people. 10 months. One amazing journey. They all share in common the decision to finish their high school careers in career-technical programs. They all share the fact that they will be more prepared for college, for life, for a career. But what is it like to make that decision to be a student at OHP? What is it like to leave your home school and enter a new building with students from 14 school districts in five counties? What is like to spend half the day in rigorous academic classes and the other half in a lab that prepares you to meet the demands of today’s workforce while also preparing you for college programs? What is it like to be an OHP student?
This was what we wanted to find out. What a better way to do just that than by allowing 10 different students to tell their stories. They will blogging here, posting videos on their YouTube Channel and posting pictures on their Flickr page. We invite you to follow their journey, ask them questions, respond to their blogs, and watch as these 10 students spend their final year in high school at OHP on a journey towards the rest of their lives.
