Working Breakfast with the Lead Ambassadors
Having fun at breakfast with the lead ambassador officers and our selected juniors. We got the chance to get ready for our upcoming community service projects and talk about the different events that we have coming up in the end of this school year. We have a wonderful group of Lead Ambassadors here at OHP and when you join you should try to become a Lead Ambassador. We get a lot of free food and that is always fun. It helps make you a better speaker and great with communication. It also helps teach self discipline and lets you step out to be a leader.

BPA and Other Recent Events
Hey guys! Long time no post. Anyway a lot of things have been happening since I last updated.
To start with I’ve been doing a lot with Ambassadors lately. Two weeks ago I went to the all boards banquet and gave tours at the school for the new board members. Tommie, Michael, Michael and Jamario were there too. We gave tours of the school and got to eat a bunch of great food that the Culinary Arts students made.
Last week we (Meaning BPA students) had our competitions. In the picture above is all the students advancing to Regional Competitions. Regional competitions is where all the local schools from Region 16 get together and compete to see who will advance to state. Tomorrow are Regionals so wish me luck!
Last Friday was the Marysville Highschool Job Fair. Myself and 3 other Student Ambassadors went to Marysville to help promote Hi-Point and talk to Sophomores. It was a lot of fun and I got to talk to the different venders there as well as talk to students.
Until Next time!

What It Means To Me To Be An OHP Student
So I’ve been posting a lot lately but I kind of just wanted to talk a little bit about what it like for me to be an Ohio Hi-Point Student.
When I first got here my junior year I was kind of nervous. I mean I was just another home-schooled student who up until this point hadn’t set foot in any kind of public school building. I had already met with my lab teacher on multiple occasions and felt comfortable around her but I hadn’t met any of my academic teachers or for that matter any of the other students.
As the weeks went by I began to grow comfortable and made friends here. It was really cool, I got to spend time doing things I love and learned more about my future field. I had contests to go to because of BPA (Business Professionals of America) and my public speaking skills improved because of the things I was involved in here.
Ambassadors really helped bring me out of my shell because I had to go and talk to students other than my friends and help with fundraisers and all other manner of things that we do.
Towards the end of my Junior year I had the opportunity to get involved in the writing club and Bloggers. I took both chances and loved both. I was also able to stay actively involved in Center Stage Productions (homeschool drama club) and play basketball.
Hi-Point really means a lot to me because it helped bring me out of my shell and helped me choose a career. I was able to come here not knowing anything and then after talking with the teachers finding out what I wanted. Now here I am in my Senior year and I know that I want to go to college for Marketing and Graphic Design.
I suppose this really is a challenge to the Sophomores, I really encourage you to come to Ohio Hi-Point. You won’t regret it I promise. Remember school is what you make it. If you enjoy what your doing school is fun and the day goes by really fast. If you don’t like school the day just never seems to end. Here you have the opportunity to explore possible career paths and not have to pay a college to explore those options.
I really hope to see you out here at least considering OHP tomorrow at Taste Of The Future. Come talk to one of us bloggers we will tell you how much fun it is to be able to have this opportunity.
~ Until next time!

First Week Of School…
Well friends the first week of school is already over and I have to say it was a good week for me. And I suppose before I jump into my post I should take a moment and reintroduce myself, I’m Alex Mobley an Information Technologies student. I was home schooled for 11 years and then came to Ohio Hi-Point for the remainder of high school. While at OHP I’ve joined the Lead Ambassadors, OHP Writing Club and the Journeys Bloggers. I have enjoyed all three and you’ve probably seen my activity from the past week in the videos of students I’ve done.
School started off on Tuesday for the juniors. I decided to start when the juniors did so I could get to know my future classmates and see how they were ajusting to the new school.
Everyone seemed really excited and eager to talk (As well as get their laptops haha!). As I went around the different labs and acedemic classrooms I saw teachers were doing team building exercises to try to get the students to know one another. ECE (Early Childhood Education) probably had one of the most interesting ways of doing things. They played a game where they all had to put blind folds on and make various farm animal sounds trying to find the other ‘animals’ in their groups. Very good way of also hightening your attention skills hehe.
Wednesday was the day the students got their laptops and my were they excited. I worked along side the Tech Department staff helping the juniors access their emails and answering general questions. This went on up to lunch and then I decided to try and squeeze in some chat time with the kids from 5th period lunch before I headed out to my part time job up at Blue Jacket Dairy.
On Thursday there were a bunch of various seminars going on about sexting, how to properly use Microsoft Word, and the computers as well as online communications and how to be wise about your postings. These seminars were most informative for us, myself as well as the juniors.
Friday all of the seniors came back! Oh my was it nice to see everyone again. It felt really good to go to my various classes and see all the faces from last year as well as the new ones from this year. During breakfast I caught up with Mr. Staudter and had some nice chats with various other educators throughout the day. Classes really hadn’t started we were just going over the objectives of the classes and taking a look at the dredded, sound affects please, Senior projects!
And I’m sure I could write you a book on all the things that went on last week but I shan’t do that so with this I bid you adieu!
Until my next posting,
Alex
